SAG Won’t Soften New-Media Stance

The Screen Actors Guild, in its third day of negotiations with studios yesterday, won’t back off of its demands for new-media residuals that are more than what the Writers and Directors Guilds of America received in recent talks, Daily Variety reports. President Peter Chernin and Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger said in informal talks earlier this month that it would model its new-media contract proposal after the writers’ and directors’ agreements, the newspaper says.
