Verizon yesterday said it applied to have its FiOS fiber-optic television service available to New York City’s five boroughs. By 2014, Verizon said it plans to complete its fiber-optic network, which would be available to 3.1 million New York City households.

verizon has been advertising FIOS tv for over a year, the leading consumer magazine rated verizon’s ‘triple play’ at the top of the heap 6 months ago, and they hadn’t even APPLIED for access in the largest city in the country until now? are you kidding??
