The American Cable Association asked the Federal Communications Commission to deny News Corp.’s attempts to escape the conditions of its DirecTV acquisition, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The FCC required that the company submit to commercial arbitration in cable-operator complaints about negotiations for regional sports networks or retransmission-consent talks, the newspaper says. News Corp. argued that the conditions should be lifted now that it has sold DirecTV to Liberty Media, the newspaper notes.
