Actors Unions Square Off

AFTRA denied a request from the Screen Actors Guide to continue its talks with the studios even though it insists it is within a few hours of reaching a deal, Daily Variety reports. The two unions are negotiating separately and SAG’s talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has already been extended twice. “I think it’s insanity that we’re not able to finish our negotiations and that the unions are being pitted against each other,” SAG national executive director Doug Allen told Variety.
