A total of 94 percent of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists membership ratified a three-year deal with the studios covering reality, syndicated dramas, soaps and other genres, Mediaweek reports. The new Network Television Code agreement increases fees and improves health and retirement plans, and provides new terms for programming reuse for new media, the newspaper notes. The deal covers actors and all on-camera and off-camera talent in the genres listed above, as wells as game shows, talk shows, variety and musical programs, news, sports and promotional announcements, the newspaper says.
