The second day of the NCTA’s Cable Show ’08 found panelists discussing branding and debating whether cable networks should charge a fee for online content, the Hollywood Reporter says. Meanwhile, U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said he opposes more government regulation of the industry. He recommended that the president veto the Senate’s vote to overturn a new FCC rule that would allow companies to own a newspaper and TV station in the same market, the newspaper says.
