Cable Upfront Outlook Promising

May 12, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The cable networks are positioning themselves to be in direct competition with the broadcast networks following increased ratings and a year of acclaimed programming, the New York Post reports. Turner’s cable nets are scheduled to make their upfront presentation the same day as CBS, moving away from the cable networks’ practice of holding their presentations earlier than the broadcast nets, the newspaper notes. While ratings are down and upfront sales are expected to fall for the broadcast networks, analysts predict the cable upfront sales could increase 5%, the newspaper says.
