Comcast Corp. is investing an unspecified amount into GridNetworks to develop a peer-to-peer file-sharing system that would deliver HD video in a way that is “friendly” to Internet service providers, the Associated Press reports. Comcast is under federal investigation for allegations that it blocks traffic to some file-sharing Web sites, the wire service notes. Comcast said that it will stop the practice by the end of the year and is developing technologies that would be mutually acceptable to users and the cable company, the newspaper notes.
