Digital advertising will for the first time be a major component in marketers’ negotiations of upfront television advertising because of a jump in the size of the audience that watches TV episodes on the Web, the Wall Street Journal reports. Walt Disney’s ABC.com had 5.9 million unique visitors last month while 2.4 million people watched shows on video service Hulu, owned by General Electric’s NBC Universal and News Corp.’s Fox, the Journal says.
