DirecTV’s first-quarter net income rose to $371 million, up from $336 million in the year-ago quarter, Reuters reports. Revenue increased 17% to $4.59 billion, the wire service notes. The lowest customer loss rate in 10 years and 275,000 new subscribers contributed to a higher-than-expected profit, the wire service says.
