House Energy & Commerce Committee Chairman John Dingell called for a hearing on June 10 to discuss the status of the digital television transition, particularly in the Wilmington, N.C. test market, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The scheduled meeting addresses a Government Accountability Office report that reveals there is still work to be done despite the preparedness of many broadcasters for the transition, the newspaper says.
