The Walt Disney Co. will make the Disney Channel available for free in Spain through digital terrestrial television in July, the Wall Street Journal reports. The channel is currently broadcast on a number of Spanish cable networks, but Spain’s low cable subscriber numbers have made it difficult for the company to increase viewership, the newspaper says. The free Disney Channel will be entirely funded by advertisers, the newspaper notes.
