Motorola has joined the Wireless Innovation Alliance, which is advocating that the Federal Communications Commission open the digital TV spectrum band to mobile unlicensed wireless devices, Broadcasting & Cable reports. A device that Motorola has been working on to ensure that it does not interfere with DTV channels encountered problems during the FCC testing phase, the newspaper says. Motorola argued that those problems are part of the testing process for a prototype device, the newspaper notes.
