Cable Industry Jobs Grow

Jun 13, 2008  •  Post A Comment

A study by Bortz Media & Sports Group reveals that the U.S. cable industry comprises 1.5 million jobs nationwide and directly employs 365,300 workers, producing nearly $62 billion in personal income and a gross economic output of about $227 billion, CedMagazine reports. Direct and indirect employment attributable to the cable industry increased by almost 367,000 jobs from 2002 to 2007, making up nearly 5% of all net new jobs in the U.S. during the period, the magazine says. The growth in jobs is attributed to the reinvestment of capital in broadband infrastructure, the magazine notes.
