CNN Tuesday night had higher ratings for Barack Obama’s victory speech than ABC, marking just the second time a cable channel trumped a broadcast network, the New York Times reports. ABC, the only broadcast network to cut into regular programming for the speech, said CNN had the advantage of using hours of pre-speech coverage to build its audience, the newspaper says.
