GAC’s ‘Road Hammers’ Lacks Punch

Great American County’s “The Road Hammers,” about a Canadian country band trying to get signed to a record contract in Nashville, isn’t compelling enough to keep television audiences interested in the band’s story, the New York Times says. The series, directed by former “Beverly Hills 90210” star Jason Priestley, features good music without showing the drama behind the band’s efforts to find success, the newspaper says.

  1. I beg to differ. I think becoming famous is viewed as a glamorous overnight success story. The general public fails to realize the time, effort and money that go into promoting the success of bands. The Road Hammers are portraying the reality of their climb to success in the music industry. It is very difficult and sometimes takes years upon years to achieve. In the Road Hammers case, they have already had success. This would leave you to believe that success in the U.S. would not be as difficult. Everyone has got a stake in the future and success of the Road Hammers, I think the show proves these trials and tribulations accurately.

  2. I really like the colors here on your blog. did you design this yourself or did you outsource it to a professional?
