Massachusetts Filming Jumps After Tax Breaks

Massachusetts has garnered about $545 million in film-based revenue since it started enacting entertainment-production based tax breaks in 2006, compared with $6 million for 2005, the New York Times reports. Other states such as New York and Michigan have substantially raised production-based tax credits to attract filming while California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has lobbied legislature to adopt similar measures to keep filming in Hollywood, the newspaper says.
