SAG Sticks to Guns on Demands

Jun 16, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Leaders of the Screen Actors Guild say they’re not backing down on key demands in their negotiations with media companies over a new labor agreement, Daily Variety says. With two weeks before their contract expires, SAG’s negotiating committee said late Friday that the panel unanimously endorsed eight negotiating priorities. That move came after splits emerged in the union’s membership over SAG’s campaign to defeat an agreement between the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the studios, Variety reports.

  1. I can’t believe it, but it looks like there will be another Hollywood strike. I guess cooler heads have not prevailed.
With even half of SAG’s own membership against them, SAG needs to make more concessions. The producers should also offer a little more for new media.
Therer doesn’t have to be strike, but to me it looks like SAG wants one. It’s like lemmings rsuhing over the cliffs into the sea.
