The Screen Actors Guild’s current contract expires Monday but little progress is expected in talks with the studios until the result of AFTRA’s vote to ratify its agreement becomes known on July 8, the Hollywood Reporter says. SAG, which has been urging its members who also are in AFTRA to reject the proposed contract with studios and producers, has approved allowing negotiators to request an extension should talks come to that point, according to the Reporter. Meanwhile, SAG leaders said the offer the guild received from the studios is worth less than AFTRA’s proposed deal, Daily Variety reports.
