Turner Broadcasting has started making upfront agreements with advertisers and is attempting to garner rates that match or exceed ABC’s 9% increase from last year, TelevisionWeek reports. Other cable companies are expected to start making upfront deals by the end of the week, the magazine says. Overall, networks this year may combine for the almost $9 billion generated last year from advance advertising commitments, better than what some analysts predicted for this year, Daily Variety reports.
