Riding high from its recent Daytime Emmy win, Discovery Channel’s “Cash Cab” barely pays big money to its contestants but that hardly keeps viewers from watching, the Los Angeles Times reports. The title cab cruises through New York City and picks up unsuspecting contestants and begins doling out trivia questions for a chance at a modest cash prize—the most ever awarded topped at $4,100, the paper says. The show was recently named outstanding game show at this year’s Daytime Emmys, where it won over longtime staples “The Price is Right” and “Jeopardy.”
