Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company is working with Warner Bros. on developing a feature-length film based on one of the classic episodes of “The Twilight Zone,” the Hollywood Reporter says. Mr. DiCaprio and the studio are looking for pitches that would allow the film that would build one continuing storyline from one or more of the original episodes, as opposed to a remake of the 1983 John Landis film based on the show, the newspaper reports.

  1. They had a very poignant episode called Minature about a guy who had a dead-end job and never had a girlfriend and fell in love with a doll in a dollhouse that, to him, was alive. The joke was on everyone who thought he was nuts when he crossed over into the world where the girl really existed and they lived happily ever after.
There was another interesting one caled The Parallel about an astronaut who accidentally wound up on a parallel Earth and met the counterparts of his wife, daughter and friends and colleagues. They, too, thought he was nuts until they all realized a switch had occurred.
How about doing a twist on this idea by combining the two-a guy with a dead-end job whose marriage is falling apart, or whose wife and child died, perhaps, winds up in a world where the double of his wife and daughter lost their husband/father, and lives with them happily ever after.
They did this in an old Superman comic where Lois Lane supposedly died after she and Clark/Superman married and had a daughter. Clark wound up on another Earth with his daughter by accident, where he met another Lois Lane whose own Superman didn’t want to get married. He proposed to her and she wound up happily raising her “daughter” with “our” Clark…this was what they called an “imaginary story” meaning it never happened, even fictionally…

  2. Interesting thoughts here. I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us all. It’s people like you that make my day 🙂
