FCC Chief Wants to Slap Comcast

Jul 11, 2008  •  Post A Comment

FCC chairman Kevin Martin recommends Comcast be reprimanded for its violation of net neutrality through the arbitrary blocking of some Internet traffic, the Associated Press reports. Martin filed an order calling for a vote on the discussion at the FCC’s open meeting on August 1, as well as for Comcast to end its practice and disclose information of past blocking, which had been done without customers’ knowledge.

  1. All Comcast did was block some BitTorrent traffic.
As BitTorrent is used almost exclusively for sharing copyrighted content of various types, I would think most media folks would be happy about their efforts, as should be most Comcast subscribers whose bandwidth for their entire neighborhood isn’t being taken up by their 16 year-old neighbor who wants to make sure every episode of Family Guy is available from his PC.

  2. I like your design a lot. I’d really like to find out exactly where may I get such layout for my blog?
