HBO has given a go-ahead to “How to Make It in America,” a comedy pilot from Mark Wahlberg’s Closest to the Hole and Stephen Levinson’s Leverage, the Hollywood Reporter says. HBO producer Rob Weiss also is a part of the project, about a group of twentysomethings in New York hoping to attain the American dream. The premium cable network has begun developing Liza Palmer’s novel “Conversations With the Fat Girl” into a series, Daily Variety reports. “Rome” executive producer Anne Thomopoulos and Anna Garduno are attached to the project, Daily Variety says.
