Minorities Missing From Scripted Programs

Jul 28, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Save for a few exceptions, such as ABC Family’s “Lincoln Height,” the upcoming TV season lacks scripted programming featuring a minority-driven cast, Multichannel News reports. Some networks are exploring reality-based shows with minorities as the focus point, such as VH1’s “The Cho Show” and TV Land’s “Family Foreman.” Scripted fare featuring a cast led by minorities, however, is still too risky for networks seeking high ratings, with such series as “Girlfriends” and “Cane” being cancelled, the trade magazine says.
