NBC Universal and two of News Corp.’s Fox units sued Redlasso for improperly providing clips of copyrighted programming on line, the Wall Street Journal reports. The suit, in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, said Redlasso wasn’t licensed to reproduce parts of shows including NBC’s “Today” and Fox’s “On The Record With Greta Van Susteren.” NBC and Fox sent a cease and desist letter to Redlasso in May. Last year Viacom sued Google’s YouTubefor $1 billion because YouTube had been posting clips from Viacom programming.
