Kids cable network Nickelodeon is trying to produce programs that will lure in parents as well, the New York Times reports. Nick at Night has replaced older shows with newer fare like “The George Lopez Show” and the network is getting a ratings bounce, the paper says. The Viacom network also is buying a show called “Glenn Martin D.D.S.,” about a family’s cross-country trip, from Michael Eisner’s production company, the Times says.
