Sony is offering a downloading service that allows consumers to play video content on TVs hooked up to its PlayStation 3 videogame consoles, the Wall Street Journal reports. The launch is part of Sony CEO Howard Stringer’s strategy of more closely linking Sony’s hardware units and software units. In addition to movies and TV shows from Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. have signed on to download their content onto PlayStations.
