Time Warner Cable Protects N.Y. Territory

Jul 22, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Verizon Communications’ move to launch FiOS TV service in New York has caused Time Warner Cable to beef up its customer service by decreasing the visitation window from four hours to two hours in Staten Island, the Wall Street Journal. The cable provider plans to extend the narrowed window to other New York City boroughs and will offer discounted prices to subscribers who commit to longer-term contracts, the newspaper says. Door-to-door sales representatives also will be deployed to reach customers before Verizon does, the newspaper notes.
