Verizon FiOS Growth Slows

Subscriber growth at telecommunications company Verizon’s FiOS fiber-optic TV service slowed during the second quarter, TVWeek says. A cutback in promotions combined with fewer defections by customers of satellite and cable companies may account for the FiOS slowdown, the newspaper says. The service just rolled out in New York City with 100 HD channels, taking on Time Warner Cable and Cablevision.
