Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and its correspondents are so popular at the Democratic National Convention that it’s hard to find officials and delegates unfamiliar enough with the program to make fun of, USA Today reports. With the two political conventions back to back, the fake news show is being put together on the same rushed schedule as a real newscast, the paper says, Taped segments are being turned around in days instead of weeks and guests are being booked within 24 hours of going on air. Producers have made jokes about Michelle Obama, but decided to lay off Sen. Ted Kennedy, who has a life-threatening brain tumor, the paper says.
