No. 2 U.S. satellite-television service Dish Network told the Federal Communications Commission that broadcasters are trying to triple carriage rates in advance of the switchover to all-digital broadcasts in February, Multichannel News reports. Dish says a so-called quiet period, in which TV broadcasters can’t switch off satellite or cable companies, should start at the end of this year, Multichannel News says.
