FCC’s Martin Doesn’t Foresee Wilmington Repeat

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin doesn’t expect any more markets to pull the plug on analog TV service early, as stations in Wilmington, N.C., will do on Sept. 8, Broadcasting & Cable reports. General awareness of the DTV transition was up in the 80% range in the past year, Martin told C-SPAN’s “The Communicators,” the magazine says. Martin also said no decision had been made regarding whether to appeal the reversal of the fines of CBS stations for the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident, the newspaper notes.
