‘Skins’ Offers Different Look at Teens

Aug 28, 2008  •  Post A Comment

ABC Family’s big hit “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and BBC America’s new series “Skins” both focus on teen worlds filled with sexual issues, the New York Times says. The paper describes the British show “Skins” as “brash and transfixing,” but adds, “if a show like ‘Secret Life’ is what the American teenager is really craving, I’m not sure what future ‘Skins’ has here. It gets down in the mud and has a fairly broad view of what can make young life so miserable. ‘Skins’ might be thinking too hard for its own good.”
