Time Warner Fears Cable Regulation

Aug 13, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Time Warner stated in a filing with the U.S. Supreme Court that government regulation of indecency should not be extended to cable and urged the court to protect non-broadcast speech, Multichannel News reports. Time Warner’s concern stems from FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin’s call for greater content regulation of the pay TV industry, the newspaper notes. Some TV stations think cable’s unrestricted programming gives it an unfair advantage, the newspaper says.
