Advertising giant WPP Group is more likely to succeed in its effort to acquire market research company Taylor Nelson Sofres now that German company GfK is reportedly bailing out of the bidding, the Wall Street Journal says. WPP made a $2.2 billion hostile offer for TNS. The acquisition would make WPP the world’s biggest ad company ranked by revenue, the paper says.
