Electronics retailer Best Buy has agreed to purchase Napster for $121 million, the Wall Street Journal reports. Napster’s assets include 700,000 digital entertainment subscribers, a Web-based customer service platform and mobile capabilities. Expected to close in the fourth quarter, the deal is a move by the retailer to compete with Apple’s iTunes and Amazon.com’s online store.
