Moonves Looking to Election for Q4 Dividends

CBS head Leslie Moonves repeatedly tried to calm the nerves of investors when he spoke Wednesday at a conference in New York, Broadcasting & Cable reports. “We’re in a state of transition,” Moonves told the audience. “But having said that, I like being in the network business, with its big-tent properties.” Moonves is relying heavily on November’s general election for CBS’ fourth-quarter revenue. Sen. Barack Obama plans to spend $39 million on its voter turnout effort in Florida, according to a campaign fundraising e-mail. “We are very well-situated for this election,” Moonves said.
