Sponsor KFC Monitoring ‘90210’

Fast food chain KFC issued a statement regarding its sponsorship of The CW’s “90210,” Advertising Age reports. “KFC has strict guidelines regarding the type of programming during which our commercials air and we continually monitor the content of those programs to ensure they meet our guidelines,” said KFC spokesman Rick Maynard in the statement. “Our media department has been in touch with the network regarding ‘90210.’” The Parents Television Council denounced the show even before it aired for its assumed teen sex and drinking content. Advertising Age said the advocacy group has asked its members to visit local franchises belonging to the show’s corporate sponsors.
