The TV Land cable network plans to change its programming strategy to appeal to younger viewers, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Viacom Inc. network will present to advertisers an initiative to more than triple the number of original shows on its prime-time schedule, the paper says. Currently the network’s audience has a median age of 55 in prime time. The new slate (which includes dating show “The Cougar” in which fortysomething women choose younger men) is aiming at people in their mid-40s, the paper says.
