Congress Passes Broadband Act

Oct 1, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Congress has passed the Broadband Data Improvement Act, the Associated Press reports. The act requires the government to monitor closely who has access to the Internet and who doesn’t, the AP says. The bill’s goal is to help policymakers better identify areas of the country that are falling behind when it comes to high-speed Internet access. Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, the bill’s sponsor, said the government has a responsibility to make sure Americans have Internet access.
