Fox News Channel wrapped up the third quarter as the top-rated cable news network, as coverage of the presidential election and the economic crisis has brought more eyes to TV news, TelevisionWeek reports. Nielsen Media Research data says Fox News averaged 2.2 million total viewers in primetime during the quarter. The network ranked fourth among all cable networks and has been the top news channel for 27 consecutive quarters. CNN was the second most watched news network, ranking ninth among all cable networks for the quarter.

  1. After seeing that horrible coverage of those conventions on CNBC I am a true Fox news fan. I predict that Fox news will do this over and over. The day of thinking that your were gonna get some good honest news from NBC is over. Even Bill Maher said watching that coverage was embarrassing.
