MSNBC Planning 2Q 2009 HD Launch

MSNBC will make its high-definition debut next spring, Multichannel News reports. It will be the last of the 24-hour cable news networks to make the switch to HD. CNN debuted its high-definition simulcast in September 2007 while Fox News Channel’s bowed in May. So why the delay at MSNBC? “We don’t want to do it in parts,” MSNBC President Phil Griffin tells B&C. “Look, I’d love to be in HD right now. The idea of the announcement before the election appealed to me. I pushed our guys hard.”
