Senate Talk for MSNBC’s Matthews

Talk that Chris Matthews might run for Arlen Specter’s Pennsylvania Senate seat was stirred up when the MSNBC anchor attended a dinner held by Barack Obama’s biggest New York fund raiser, Robert Wolf, on October 14, the New York Times says. Wolf tells the paper the subject of Matthews’ political future came up at the event. But Mr. Mathews insists “Right now, I have a professional responsibility to cover this campaign and politics generally with objectivity,” adding, “I can’t be involved in anything like that. It has to be off the table.”
