Social networking service Web site Slide has signed content deals with Time Warner, CBS and Comcast’s E! Entertainment network, among others, the Wall Street Journal reports. The deal means Slide users will be able to view clips of such shows as NBC’s “Nightly News With Brian Williams” and The CW’s “90210” for free, the newspaper says. Slide plans to sell ads alongside video content it will offer under the name “FunSpace Channels.” The partnerships show a maturation of the booming social networking business, as evidenced by the success of MySpace and Facebook. The Journal says as social-networking sites grow, so has competition for viewers and advertisers.
