The Supreme Court is staying clear of a $74 million judgment against Dish Network for its violation of a patent held by TiVo involving digital video recorders, the Associated Press reports. The court denied Dish’s appeal today without comment, according to AP. In January, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit agreed with a lower court’s ruling that DVRs distributed by Dish violated software elements of TiVo’s DVR patent, the AP says.
