Time Warner Cable is bracing for retransmission negotiations with the Spanish-language broadcaster Univision Communications, the Wall Street Journal reports. Univision has said previously is should receive $1 per subscriber per month, and given the broadcaster’s strong Hispanic appeal, the proposed fees could cost Time Warner Cable about $80 million in the next year, the newspaper says, citing Pali Capital estimates. Under the current contract TWC may still air Univision’s network programming through all of next year, but not its local news shows.
