Video Search Getting More Sophisticated

Video search companies are looking for ways other than metadata to help users find the clips they’re looking for, the Wall Street Journal reports. Video Surf is using technology that searches the video content using “computer vision algorithms,” Google’s YouTube is trying speech recognition, and others are mining information about how many times clips have been viewed, the paper says.
