YouTube will begin streaming full-length, advertising-supported TV shows and other long-form content from the CBS library as part of a shift in strategy, MediaWeek reports. The CBS deal includes older network shows such as “Star Trek,” “Beverly Hills 90210,” soap opera “The Young and the Restless” and current Showtime series’ “Dexter” and “Californication.” YouTube execs told MediaWeek that the shift is based on user demand and the popularity of longer-form content on other sites such as ABC.com.
