Because you’re just not getting enough of it in the news, HBO is prepping a new drama set against the stock-market woes of 1987 called “The Review,” the Hollywood Reporter says. The project from writer Andy Bellin, who’s also an executive producer, is a semi-autobiographical take on Bellin’s experience working for George Plimpton as an editor at the Paris Review in the aftermath of Black Monday. “I conned my way into that job because I desperately wanted to become a writer—having wasted so many years in the hard sciences—and George had a well-earned reputation for nurturing young writers and an open mind to people of all academic backgrounds,” Bellin tells the Reporter.
